Over the past two weeks, TikTok and RedNote have been on the topic of discussion. US users faced a temporary 14 hour ban from TikTok and flocked to RedNote to get their daily dose of content.
The uncertainty surrounding the ban pushed many influencers and users to shift to RedNote, also known as ‘Xiaohongshu’ (小红书) which is predominantly in Mandarin, Chinese. There was an influx of users attempting to learn the language and even using the hashtag #tiktokrefugee.
In recent updates, US President, Donald Trump, has since lifted the ban and extended it for an additional 75 days. Trump has given potential investors the extension to buy the app or TikTok will be banned again.
